Our story and things to visit in Queensland
This afternoon we take the kids to The Gap, a few km North West of Brisbane. The park is part of the Queensland government. You pay a small entry fee to visit the Discovery Centre which has several reptiles including snakes, a crocodile, and many more, but also some animals held outdoor like Audrics favourite animal the wombat, an Emu and an echidna. Did you know that the Echidna and the platypus (also present in Australia) are the only 2 egg-laying mammals in the world? Apart from the Centre there is a nice café in the forest and a lake to paddle, kano or swim, if catfish are not in their nesting, as otherwise they will bite you 😊. There are also several nice and short walks and bike tracks and a natural playgrounds for kids. Worth a visit for an afternoon, certainly good when the weather is hot and outside the aggressive catfish nesting season 😊
