Our story and things to visit in Queensland
As holidays in Australia really means holidays (so beach), it was not easy to find some sport activities for our kids during the holidays. Sport Clinics (sportkampen) like they call it here, are more expensive then in Belgium and mostly only organized for half a day. Experience learnt that indeed, because of the high temperatures, temperature could go up to 35 degrees, half a day is long enough for smaller children. Nevertheless, the kids enjoyed their first Australian tennis clinic at the Queensland tennis centre in Tennyson (yes you read it well 😊). The tennis facility having 23! outside courts, was built in 2009 and it is owned by the Queensland government. The centre court is called the Pat Rafter Arena and hosted several ties in the Davis and Fed Cup. The centre also has a nice coffee shop and lot’s of spaces to work outside in the shade….
