Wynnum, a nice bay village
This afternoon we will discover Wynnum, a small village South of the Brisbane international airport. The village lies along the coast and has a nice bike path, parklands with a small aquapark and a big wading pool filled with water from the sea. Daisy hill conservation park
Today we took the time to discover the Daisy Hill Conservation park. The Koala centre has free access. We saw several rescued Koala’s, most of them were awake and very funny to look at. The centre had lot’s of information on other native animals and different projects to protect them, it was very nicely set
Mount Coot- tha
Today we spend half a day out at the Mount Coot-tha reserve. Mount Coot-tha is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place of honey’ its names this because the Aboriginal people of the area used to come to the mountain to collect ‘ku-ta’ (honey) that was produced by the native stingless bee. Mount Coo-tha measures 302 meters
Brisbane botanical Gardens
52 Ha of nice gardens freely accessible the whole year. We enjoyed the different themes in the park namely a bonsai garden, fern garden, Japanese garden, kids garden, fruit & vegetable garden including bbq for workshops, natural playground, tropical greenhouse, wildlife and so much more.
