Gold Creek walk around the Reservoir

Today we decided to go for a bush walk. Around 15 minutes from where we live, you can find Gold Creek Dam, originally build in 1885 to supplement the Enoggera Dam. Both dams are used to supply drinking water to the Brisbane region. When the Gold Creek dam reaches 100 percent capacity, water flows over a concreted stepped spillway out of the dam into the local creeks. The total capacity of the dam is 801 million liter, with a maximum dept of 26 meters. The walk around the dam takes about 2.5 hours and is about 6 km long, with some elevations. Nice natural sounds, flowers, and even passion fruit trees. There is a parking lot just in front of the start of the walk. We will certainly go back after a heavy rain to see the water flowing into the creeks.
