Fitzroy island
If you want to enjoy nice beaches and nature, do some snorkelling and meet turtles between the coral reefs you should visit Fitzroy island, only 45 min away from Cairns. We did a one day trip, but if you have more time you could stay a few days at the resort on the island. There are nice walks in the rainforest to hidden beaches and there is turtle hospital to visit.
